Karen Salvaggio is a racer, speedster, trainer, author and auto engineer. Darryl Starbird is the iconic custom builder with hundreds of builds like the Lil’ Coffin, Predicta, Starbird 2000.

Her personal motto is “dream big and work hard”.
She has won over 150 victories on the track, five racing championships and she holds several track records. A member of the National Auto Sport Association, the Sports Car Club of America, the Guldstrand Racing Association and the Vintage Automobile Racing Association.
She founded and is editor of Thunder Valley Racing. Which serves women racers and their fans. It’s considered the entry point for women how want to race in mainstream events.
In 2010 her team competed in the 25 hours of Thunderhill where they when 523 grueling laps – over 1,569 miles through steady rains.
It helps that she is a military U. S. Air Force veteran where she served as a master mechanic on B-52’s and KC 135 aircraft. She received numerous distinguished service medals. After which she completed her doctoral degree in Education. That’s right… she is a Doctor.
She continues her involvement with Factory 5 automotive as adviser and Motorsports driver for their racing team. Featured on an episode of TV show Detroit Muscle “All Girls 427 Cobra Build”.
