(Season 15 EP 46)

This Week’s Topics:

Warren Heir Jr. – Cofounder Ma Ma Tried Motorcycle Show and Flat Out Friday Racing.

Two motorcycle guys met. Each were from two different motorcycle worlds. One – Warren Heir,Jr. – was well known for building custom choppers. Riding them on the backroads of across the nation. The other – Scott Johnson – made his mark competing in the motorcycle racing scene. Developing huge crowds around events meant to support racing culture.

After a brief meeting they decided it was time to converge all motorcycle cultures into one event. To bring together all types of motorcycle families and have them share their talents, lifestyles and the bikes they enjoy.

Within weeks they found an abandon warehouse near the newly built Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Then they sent out invitations to bike builders to bring their unique rides to the new Ma Ma Tried Motorcycle Show. The response was immediately met with commitments to ship their bikes from around the world.

The first event was a huge success and quickly outgrew the building. Eventually, they moved to the landmark The Rave / Eagles Ballroom located in the heart of Milwaukee. This location is perfect with catacombs, multiple stages and an astounding architectural ball room.

Soon after the first show they decided to add another feature that proved to be a global hit. That was to provide a small oval track where all types of bikes race against each other with speeds so fast the riders have to lean into the curve. It’s exciting to see the riders elbow inches from the pavement as they rip around in circles. In addition, what makes this even more fun is that the track in held on a Dr. Pepper soaked, sticky concrete surface. They call this event Flat Out Friday Racing.
