249: Charlie Weddle, Southeastern Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Fame

In the 70’s Charlie Weddle became known as “The Black Fox” as he drove his 1970 Chevelle. However, he started his career competing in the local race tracks in the early 60’s. In 1965 he placed 5th overall in the Milwaukee area Sportsman Stock car point standings at the Slinger, Cedarburg, Hales Corners and the State Fair quarter mile track.

In addition, he took home the Mid-Season Championship by scoring a “clean sweep”. And later that night he continued to race in the nights forty car demo derby.

Charlie is still a part of the racing scene and well respected.

In 2013 – the Southeastern Wisconsin Short Track inducted him into the Hall of Fame with others that contributed to the sport.
