349: Vince Heywood, Young Gun.

Show Date: 02/20/2021

(Season 15 EP 8)

This Week’s Topics:

Vince Heywood – Young Gun Car Guy.

For years, Wisconsin Hot Rod Radio has appreciated those young kids that build cool rides. We don’t care if they drive traditional, rat rods, imports, drifters, trucks, muscle or skate boards. Right now, they are what we were back in our day when our elders thought we were nuts for ripping the fenders off the model T and cruising up and back the streets.

We will be talking with Vince Heywood who works on and drives a 1940 Oldsmobile. It has a satin black paint with scallop flames and red wheels with small caps. The name “Lucille” is hand painted next to a pin-up girl. All that is below a massive pinstriping scroll that sits on the hump trunk.

This car just isn’t tough looking on the outside – it has a small block 305, hooked to a Turbo 350 trans running back to a 10-bolt rear end.

Where does his generation want to take the car culture? We will be talking with Vince about his build and to get his “youthful” insights about where the car scene is going.
