Wisconsin Proposed Additional Vehicle – Based On Your Income?

Submitted by Curt Rymkus, Wisconsin Specialty Vehicle Council.

Here is an excerpt from the proposed Assembly Bill 867:

“Currently, a local motor vehicle registration fee must be a flat fee. Under this
bill, the fee may be a flat fee or may be based on the vehicle’s value, weight, or number
of axles or the owner’s income.”

You need to read the entire bill. Click here for full proposal.

If you oppose the proposed legislation, you can call, email or write your Wisconsin State Representative and State Senator.  We have included a link to find your representative:

We have always had the policy that you need to be respectful when expressing your opposition.

“As a constituent, I respectfully request that you oppose Assembly Bill 867, authorizing a city, village, or town (municipality) or county to impose a motor vehicle registration fee that is a flat fee or that is a variable fee based on any of several enumerated factors, i.e; Under this bill, the fee may be a flat fee or may be based on the vehicle’s value, weight, or number of axles or the owner’s income.”
