The Hespeler family’s hemi-powered Factory Five ’33 Hot Rod in a race with Cancer.

Scott Hespeler was starting to scratch build a Factory Five 33 hot rod when they discovered he had cancer. To make sure Scott saw this build completed his family and friends worked a lot of late nights finish his build.  Scott survived long enough to hear hemi roar and see it finished.

When Dave Smith, owner of Factory Five, heard about Scott and what it meant to the family to have this car done - he hopped on a plane and went to meet the Hespeler family. He was so inspired by Scott's story that he hired a film crew and they filmed a beautiful car guy film. Of course, Dave being Dave - he decided to race the car against a production car and donate $10k to the winner.

Watch this nice family as they share Scott's legacy.

A special thanks to Dave Smith and the Factory Five family.
