David Salvaggio brings his family’s 1947 Marchese Special to Jay Leno’s Garage.

The Marchese Special was a record holder at the famous Milwaukee Mile Race Track. Back in the day this type of racer was called a “Midget” because of its tiny size. However, the size didn’t mean it was a slow vehicle. It was powered by an Offenhauser engine with lots of horse power for a car weighing roughly 800 pounds. Normally raced on a dirt track these cars were fun to watch but could be dangerous for the drivers because of having no roll cage and only a hand brake outside the driver’s cock pit.

David is Executive Vice President of SpeedKore Performance Group based in Wisconsin. SpeedKore is about performance whether it’s horsepower, suspension or body strength.
